Southcoast Building pairs 39 years of hands-on building experience with 35 years of business and finance leadership. Established in Westport in 2020 — more than $9 million of homes, additions, and ADUs built or under contract across the South Coast since.

The Builder

Roy Cabral

Roy has been on job sites since he was 16 — 39 years of hands-on building across Southeastern Massachusetts. Framing, finish, foundations, old houses, new houses: he’s built it all, and he still walks every project. Roy lives in Westport. He builds it right.

The Business Manager

Mike Bicho

Mike spent 35 years in business and finance leadership, including with a Fortune 50 company, before going all-in on residential construction a decade ago. Budgets, schedules, contracts, and communication run like a business — because your project is one. He keeps it on budget and on schedule.

Why We Narrowed Our Focus

Fewer projects. Bigger. Better.

We spent our first years doing everything — roofs, windows, siding, remodels. It taught us the trades, the towns, and the people. As of 2026 we focus exclusively on what we do best: new homes, ADUs, and major additions and renovations — projects from $200,000, where craftsmanship and management make the biggest difference.

We take on a limited number of projects each year. When we’re on your job, we’re on your job.

Licensed & Insured

Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL) and Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) registration. Fully insured.

Where We Work

Within about 30 minutes of our Assonet office: Westport, Dartmouth, Acushnet, Mattapoisett, Fairhaven, Freetown, Fall River, New Bedford.

Directly. You work with Mike and Roy from the first site walk to the final walkthrough — phone, text, email, and in person.
