Southcoast is a design & build firm. We draw your plans, price them and build them: custom homes, ADUs and additions across Southeastern Massachusetts, with one team accountable from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
Who We Are
Designer, builder and business manager. One team.
Most contractors can swing a hammer. Few can run a budget, a schedule, and a dozen trade partners without dropping something. Southcoast Building was established in Westport in 2020 to do both — every project gets Roy’s 39 years of hands-on building and Mike’s 35 years of business and finance discipline. Today we design in-house too, so the plans, the price and the build all come from the same people.
CSL and HIC licensed, fully insured, office in Assonet. We work within about 30 minutes of home — Westport, Dartmouth, Acushnet, Mattapoisett, Fairhaven, Freetown, Fall River, New Bedford.
What We Design & Build

New Construction
Custom homes on your lot or ours, and spec homes we design, build and sell. Plans drawn in-house at a flat rate, from first sketch to certificate of occupancy.
ADUs & In-Law Suites
Most of ours are built for family — a parent staying close while keeping their independence. Allowed by right in most MA single-family zones; typically a 4–5 month project.
Additions & Renovations
Second stories, primary-suite wings, whole-home transformations of older South Coast houses. Projects that change how your home lives.

Design & Firm Price
We draw your plans in-house at a flat, published rate, or build from yours. Half the design fee is credited to your build, and you get a firm contract price.

You work with Mike and Roy through the whole build — straight answers from the people doing the work.
Walkthrough & Warranty
A real punch-list process, a written warranty, and a builder who still answers the phone two years later.
Flat-rate plans. Half price when we build.
New construction at $2.00 per sq ft. Additions at $3.00 per sq ft, existing and proposed plans included. Build with us and half the design fee is credited to your contract.
